VIVOTEK Launches New 3-Megapixel Vandal Proof Fisheye Camera Offering 360-degree Surround View with Zero Blind Spots

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) August 17, 2011

VIVOTEK USA Inc. (TAIEX: 3454), an industry leader in megapixel and HD IP camera technology, announced today the availability of the new FE8171V 3-Megapixel day/night dome camera to the market. The FE8171V is VIVOTEK?s first camera equipped with a fisheye lens for a 360-degree surround view that can capture a wide field of view without blind spots from a ceiling or wall mount. With high image quality in 3-Megapixel resolution, the camera also features an IP-66 rated outdoor housing, removable IR-cut filter, H.264 compression, and EN50155 compliance which make it an ideal solution for applications including airports, shopping malls, retail stores, transportation, and much more.

The FE8171V is integrated with VIVOTEK?s latest image processing technology for clear, usable surveillance video. Software is used to dewarp the distorted images captured from a fisheye lens and displays them with multiple layout options, including surround view, 180-degree (wall mount)/360-degree (ceiling mount) panoramic views, and regional "quad" view to meet different surveillance requirements. The panoramic and regional viewing modes in particular allow for ePTZ functionality whereby a user can digitally zoom in to focus on multiple areas of interest. The software development kit for the FE8171V has been made available to leading third-party CMS platforms, ensuring open platform support for the camera and increasing flexibility of usage for installers.

?VIVOTEK is once again pushing the envelope by providing the market with cutting edge solutions that customers are looking for,? said Harry Hu, Director of Sales at VIVOTEK USA. ?With the new FE8171V, only one camera is needed to monitor an entire area with zero blind spots, and it will be fully integrated with leading software partners. We expect the camera to be quickly embraced by security professionals for a wide variety of applications.?

VIVOTEK?S new FE8171V supports triple-codec compressions, including H.264, MPEG-4, and MJPEG, allowing video streams to be transmitted in any of these formats for versatile applications. The streams can also be individually configured to meet different constraints to further reducing bandwidth and storage requirements. Users can receive multiple streams simultaneously in different resolutions, frame rates, and image qualities for viewing on different platforms, including mobile applications.

In addition to its already rich feature set, FE8171V is equipped with 802.3af compliant PoE and two-way audio with built-in weatherproof microphone.

New Social Media Agglomeration Launches Offering Free Promotion to Its Users

Sparta, New Jersey (PRWEB) January 25, 2012

A new online medium that merges the best components of popular social media sites, will launch late January 2012. The Road Code, created, designed, and implemented by co-founders Paul Brocky and Tom Catuosco, along with a team of programmers, makes obtaining information on-the-go, easy and free. This online freeway for advertising is peeling out onto the World Wide Web and will allow users to log on and create their own mini website to promote anything their heart desires with an easy-to-use 4-character alpha-numerical code.

?I have used a number of social media outlets, tried new-fangled ways to access information quickly through my smartphone, but those ways were never quite what I wanted or needed,? said Paul. ?Whether you are a consumer, realtor, or business professional, this website allows users to gain information and utilize more useful ways for sales forces, such as realtors and car dealerships, to disseminate the most current information, all while being easy enough for the average Joe to use.?

Paul developed the concept after driving home one winter?s night to discover his dream home was finally for sale. He pulled over his car to get the information from the sign but could not find a pen, pencil or piece of paper in his car, nor was there an easy way to pull up all the information on his smart phone. A little down-trodden, but eager to find the answer, he hurried home with a new-found determination, not only for the house, but for a better way to get information easily and quickly from the road.

After a few months of concepting and planning, Paul ? The Traffic Controller - teamed up with his long-time high-school buddy, Tom ? the Techie Translator ?, and began building The Road Code in early March of 2011. They will finally come to see the fruits of their labor in the New Year.

?There was certainly a need for this kind of technology,? said Tom. ?We spent a lot of time really dissecting the most essential pieces to the most popular social media sites and combined it with what we wanted as a consumer. It?s a great tool for businesses, consumers and really anyone that wants to promote or get information about something ? and for free. It?s been a great experience thus far and we?re really excited to launch this to the public. We hope see you on the freeway.?

The Road Code, found at http://www.TheRoadCode.com, is an online informational website that allows users to create their own mini websites that lets them post the who, what, when, where, why about anything they want to promote. Once they have put in all this information into a profile, complete with picture and video capabilities, they are given a four-digit code to use in their marketing and promotional efforts, as well as the ability to print The Road Code signs to post with this unique code. And the best part about the site is that it?s free.

Apps are also available for free for BlackBerry, Smartphones, i-Pads, and i-Phones.
