How much should a programmer with 10 years of experience expect?
I have worked for years a a consultant and one of the perks has been that I get paid so much more than my peers who work as full-time employees in the field. However, I have been thinking of going full-time, no particular reason, but I feel I am mature enough to sit put in one company for at least 2 or more years and wanting to know how much I should look for in a base salary. Having talked to various people in different industries, I am still a bit confused as to how much is reasonable for a base salary for a full-time gig, having 10 years of strong programming experience. I know there are so many low-ballers out there looking to take advantage of Programmers who want to work with em, but how much is a programmer with a decade of experience really worth in today's market? Any ideas how I should go about this?
